In 2024 L'abilità onlus started a new service dedicated to children with autism spectrum disorder: Le piccole case. It is a Territorial Semi-Residential Rehabilitation Center (C.T.R.S) aimed at children with autism spectrum disorder with an age range of 2 to 11 years and different levels of development, who need specific treatment.supported by the FCO provides funding for all molecular analyses necessary to discover and assess alterations in blood cells (white blood cells, platelets and red blood cells) that may be a sign of rare and complex diseases in children.

MULTISENSORIAL ROOM
The Centro Diurno Disabili Sottosopra ('Over-under Day Center for the Disabled') of Macherio is able to serve up to 15 people with grave multiple disabilities with ages ranging from 15 to 65. Over the years, the multi-disciplinary team of neuropsychiatrists, pyschologists, educators, music therapists, art therapists, psychomotrists, physical therapists, nurses and social workers have used an approach called 'Basal Stimulation', consisting of transmitting to the patients a range of sensations and experiences that develop relational growth and the well-being of the individual. Through visual, tactile and auditory stimuli, calibrated to the needs of each subject, attention, contact and self-awareness and of others have been found to improve. The Multisensorial Room offers a range of luminous, musical, olfactory and tactile effects that involve all of the senses and that are personalized for each patient, allowing him or her to overcome or compensate for serious sensorial deficits. The set-up of the spaces involved offer the possibility of self-determination by supplying curious stimuli that encourage interaction with reality and with others.

CHILDREN'S HEART
The Cuore di Bimbi program aims to promote the development of cardio-surgical pediatrics at the Mulago di Kampala Hospital in Uganda, one of the most poverty-stricken countries in the world. Each day, around 40 children visit the hospital for a heart-related consultation. The project finances periodic missions of Italian volunteers from the Niguarda Hospital in Milan who go to Uganda to perform operations and improve the technical abilities of the local staff there. Their objective is to operate on 10 children during each mission, guaranteeing an excellent post-operation experience and follow-up to reduce risks and complications. 'LET’S DO IT!' TENDER
'Occupiamoci!' ('Let’s do it!') is a national tender, now in its second edition, whose goal is to foster the job placement of young people between the ages of 16 and 29 through social enterprise, promoting an inclusive job market with minor gaps in a social, cultural, geographical, generational and gender context. This project, promoted by Fondazione Mission Bambini, Fondazione Canali Onlus, Fondazione San Zen, the Unicredit Foundation and Manageritalia Milano, Gruppo Volontariato Professionale (a professional volunteer group). After the success of the first edition, thanks to which more than 100 young people throughout Italy were placed in jobs, this edition has seen 9 winning 'social business' projects, chosen from more than 200 entries. These new or potential entrepreneurial activities are created and managed by associations and cooperatives, mainly in sectors that are strategic for Italy like food and wine and tourism. The positions created by these initiatives, initially for 35 individuals, can increase over time.

This project is aimed at the professional training and integration of 12 young adults from 16 to 21 years old who are afflicted by situations of familial and/or social distress with a series of scholastic troubles or long periods of inactivity behind them. The program promotes the participants’ acquisition of professional skills and abilities in order to facilitate their entry into the working world. During this process, the participants also have the opportunity to improve their social skills, sense of responsibility and autonomy, discovering more about themselves and their interests. In these centres, the children receive education, meals and psychological support so that they can attend the official school system.
